Mary Reynolds Thompson

Mary Reynolds Thompson, CPCC, CAPF, is a certified life coach and facilitator of poetry and journal therapy. She teaches, consults, writes, and coaches individuals, groups, and organizations across the country and internationally.

Before becoming a life coach in 2001, Mary served as a copywriter and creative director for a host of international companies, including Hallmark, Starbucks, and Harrods. She is an expert brander and marketer, having, among other things, named the movie French Kiss, starring Kevin Klein and Meg Ryan. She is co-founder of Write the Damn Book, a company that helps writers put their dreams into words, is a regular workshop director for the International Women’s Writing Guild, and serves on the credentialing committee of the National Association of Poetry Therapy.

Mary has roamed the farthest reaches of the planet, from the highest points of the Himalayas to the tip of Tierra del Fuego, deepening her relationship with the sacred earth. She spends many hours walking the trails around where she lives, learning to slow down and pay attention to what the wild has to teach her –– teach all of us who are searching for a richer understanding of our own wild nature.

Exploring her inner wilderness has been key to Mary’s work. Her journey of eco-spirituality includes a decades-long successful recovery from alcoholism that grounds her in an understanding of how we can all awaken from the addictive trance of the modern world.

Born in London, England, today Mary lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, Bruce, who shares her passion for nature, the planet, and the future of the wild soul that unites us all.
